Here They Lie (The Bloodstone Legacy #1) by D'Ann Burrow
Publication Date: October 5th, 2015
Genre: New Adult Southern Gothic

~Summary~

Reese Everett’s aunt picked a bad time to die.  Just weeks after a car accident left Reese’s mother unable to travel, her aunt’s house needs to be emptied and sold, leaving Reese as the only member of the family who can do the job.  She typically wouldn’t balk at the opportunity to sift through her aunt’s collection of antiques, but when she arrives in Devil’s Vale, Georgia, she discovers the family house in a state of disrepair she won’t be able to handle alone.

Colton Waters is back in Devil’s Vale – whether he likes it or not.  After he loses his acceptance to medical school with no explanation, he’s left with a single job offer…one that will return him to the hometown he’d hoped to escape.
When an errand to help his sister ends in a meeting with Reese neither will easily forget, Colton takes a job as her temporary handyman.

The longer Reese stays in town, the more she realizes the condition of her aunt’s house isn’t the only thing she hadn’t expected when she made the trip to Devil’s Vale.  Reese isn’t the only gifted member of the family – her aunt Kate has been practicing the family business…the business Reese has been sworn never to discuss.

After a ghostly visitor arrives one night, Reese and Colton learn Kate wasn’t the only one practicing the darker arts.  They begin to uncover secrets that refuse to stay buried.

Here They Lie won the Young Adult Romance Writer’s 2014 award for New Adult fiction.

~About the Author~

D'Ann Burrow

D’Ann Burrow once told her preschool teacher she wanted to be a witch when she grew up. That simple comment signaled the start of a life-long fondness of things that go bump in the night. As she grew older, she could most often be found with her nose buried in a book, and she was especially fond of the Nancy Drew series as well as anything by Christopher Pike or Stephen King. Occasionally she’d take a trip to the world of the classics where The Scarlet Pimpernel and A Little Princess reigned among her favorites. She’s lost count of the times she’s read Little Women.

Today, D’Ann enjoys the world of Supernatural, stories about guys with fangs, and she’s seldom met a disaster film she hasn’t liked. When she grows up, she’d like to work at the Haunted Mansion. Until then, watching Ghost Hunters will have to count as research.

D’Ann writes about secrets people keep. Even the bravest heroine or a guy with a heart of gold has a few skeletons in the closet they’d rather not share with the world. When those secrets get out, things get interesting.

Saving Angel (Divisa #1) by J.L Weil
Publication Date: Sepember 1st, 2012
Genre: Young Adult Paranormal

~Summary~

I couldn’t help but wonder what my life would be like if we had never moved to the ho-dunk town of Spring Valley, Illinois. Sure the internet service is splotchy, there is nothing but miles of wheat fields, and I probably wouldn’t be faced with death at every corner.

My only neighbor in this god forsaken town is…well, there really is only one to describe him—hot as hell. With his sinful dark looks, unusually silver eyes, and kissable lips, there is something about him that is more than meets the eye.

Of course I am determined to find out.

Chase Winters might be drool-worthy, but he is also insufferable, arrogant and…in short a d-bag. Our relationship is anything but love at first sight. Not even close. There is something weird about the family living next door.

What I hadn’t expected to find is an underworld of trouble.

Chase and his cousins Lexi and Travis are Divisa—half-demon, half-human. Getting them angry is hardly in my best interest, not if I want to live.

As it turns out, that might be the least of my problems. I’ve been tagged by Hell.

Now every ugly, nasty being from hades is on my trail. I have suddenly became a magnet for demon disaster, and the only way I am getting out of this alive is by putting my life in the demon spawn’s hands.

One wrong decision and my butt is toast.

She must return to her roots, in the small town with big secrets, and nightmares for all. Especially true for Alyx, who lost everything back there.

How do you force yourself to remember things you shoved so deep inside you you’re even not sure they’re still there for the finding? Luckily she’s not alone hunting for solutions. Knowing that she's the only one who can finish what was started the night her family died, the villagers take it upon themselves to enlist her into their coven practice. If they can help her recover her memories, then maybe Alyx will not only learn what happened in the house where her family died, but also who the real enemy is – someone a little too close for her comfort.

Review: Zombie Cinderella II: The Ball (Zombie Fairy Tales #6) by Kevin Richey

Zombie Cinderella II: The Ball (Zombie Fairy Tales #6) by Kevin Richey
Publication Date: June 13th, 2012
Genre: Horror
Pages: 38
Format: Paperback Collection
Source: Gifted
Read: September 29th, 2015

~Summary~

Cinderella returns to continue her bloody revenge. While at the Ball, she reunites with her evil stepsisters, and discovers that the Prince has some secrets of his own that are far from charming.

~My Thoughts~

This was one twisted short story! Oh my god, I was not expecting any of this! I knew shit was going to go down when Cinderella was on her way to the ball, I mean look at her, but damn!

I decided to go into this blind, not taking the time to even read the summary because it's the continuation of Zombie Cinderella so I had the gist of where things were leading. But y'all I was not expecting the twist on Prince Charming. His father is livid, tired of hosting ball after ball, all in finding his son a wife. The reason for all these balls had me sitting on the edge of my seat! An absolutely brilliant twist!

If you love horror, zombies, and absolutely twisted stories then this story is for you. But you must read Zombie Cinderella first but I promise it's just as great as this one! Or if you just love watching evil stepsisters getting their just desserts then this is definitely a read for you! 5 Bloody Hand-prints!

{Cover Reveal} Twice Upon A Time by Hope Irving

Twice Upon A Time by Hope Irving
Publication Date: October 31st, 2015
Genre: New Adult Paranormal Romance

Summary from Goodreads

Once upon a time, there was the wandering soul of Morgann, an 8th century Irish calligrapher-monk longing to be reunited with his soul mate. Deirdre was his forbidden love, a witch with whom he wrote a coveted book.

Under her spell, the souls of the star-crossed lovers travel from bodies to bodies until they find each other. Eventually.
That became his quest: unearth her new body and trigger her memory, for she is clueless about whom she once was. Unfortunately their story didn't get a chance to become a fairy tale yet it still turned out as a famous urban legend referred as The Black Angel Book.

Twice upon a time, not so long ago, there was me, rational and devastated Rose. I needed to get a grip, said my French mum after my year of numbness due to a painful break-up that led me to cut my wrist daily, to feel something, anything.

So she sent me off to the free-spirited village of Provincetown, Massachusetts, to spend the summer with my American relatives. And just like that, I wasn’t myself any longer. Because someone pulled me out of the darkness and bewitched me, somehow.

I couldn’t wait to jump his bones… but why was he holding back?
He couldn’t wait to welcome me into his world… but was I ready to question my convictions and acknowledge that my self-inflicted cuts were now healing in record time?

How could I have imagined he was longing for his own unorthodox fairytale to come true? Frantically.
