Down A Dark Hall

Kit Gordy sees Blackwood Hall towering over black iron gates, and she can't help thinking, This place is evil. The imposing mansion sends a shiver of fear through her. But Kit settles into a routine, trying to ignore the rumors that the highly exclusive boarding school is haunted.
Then her classmates begin to show extraordinary and unknown talents. The strange dreams, the voices, the lost letters to family and friends, all become overshadowed by the magic around them.
When Kit and her friends realize that Blackwood isn't what it claims to be, it might be too late.

Chills......that's the word that comes to mind when I look back on this book.

Simple plot written in bone chilling words, page after page. What more can I say.

Kit is a strong willed young adult who isn't going to do anything she doesn't want to do. But the one thing she can't fight against is ending up at the all girls boarding school, Blackwood.

Being accepted and without her best friend, she gets another surprise to finding out only three other girls are going to the school. Why so little, they don't.

Obviously it couldn't be because of who they are or where they come from it's got to be something else, right?

Four completely different girls except for one thing....but you wouldn't be able to tell what it is on the outside. As time goes by they all start to develop new talents. Is it because of the wonderful teaching they're getting or is it something more sinister

I'm really happy at to how it ended. Sadly I was afraid it was going to go the opposite direction but it didn't. :) I've seen way, way to many movies where it did and that always pisses me off. It was nice how everything tied up together.

This was the first book I've read from, Lois Duncan, so I was just going off by what it was about when I picked it up. Which I'm glad to say I did and that I fell for it and I fell hard.

Now there are two other titles I know are from her which are, I know what you did last summer & stranger with my face. But am kind of not sure I want to pick them up. Haven't decided yet. Mostly, for the reason for the first title, that it might not be what I expect because I have seen the movie and loved it. What do you guys think? Should I pick them up?

Inside Out

Keep Your Head Down.
Don't Get Noticed.
Or Else.

I'm Trella. I'm a scrub. A nobody. One of thousands who work the lower levels, keeping Inside clean for the Uppers. I've got one friend, do my job and try to avoid the Pop Cops. So what if I occasionally use the pipes to sneak around the Upper levels? The only neck at risk is my own…until I accidentally start a rebellion and become the go-to girl to lead a revolution.

The moment your eyes lay sight on the first page you're sucked in and can't come loose. From the start you're thrown into the action and it's like that most of the way through.

This book is about a girl whom thought the way she lived her life was the way to survive the lower levels.....but the true survival test was just about to come.

All she wanted to do was prove her friends, Cog, prophet was wrong, a fake whom only worked for the uppers.....until she made one tiny slip that started a rebellion.

The whole entire time she tried to fight the little hope that lingered in her, the little chances there was something more to this way of life, and as she finds out more and more she sees now that what she'ves been told about her world, about her way of life and other's is all just a lie. Just a way for the Pop Cops to keep control over everything.

With the help of her new found friends, they'll work together and find ways to make life conditions better for everyone and I can't wait to get my hands on the next one, to see what they'll do next.

There's twist and turns that I didn't see coming or was always wrong on who was the snitch. It's a good entertaining read that'll have you sitting on the edge of your seat in some parts. I've came to be to this book because I've got hooked into the world of dystopia's thanks to the one and only, The Hunger Games. However, it's not as outstanding or memorable like in the sense of that series. But it has it's moments.

Don't get me wrong it's great and I really liked it, it just lacked, I think, on what I thought it was going to be. I don't know, maybe it just hasn't sunk in yet. Except what that place was, was totally not what I thought it was going to be which, like, blow my mind. It was definitely a better ending than what I see in some. It'll make you want to go buy the next one. Which I'll do once I finish off my stack of books. I banned myself from buying anymore til there gone and done with......though that may change tomorrow.

Inside Out is mostly a survival book and in the last few pages it turns into a little romance. No love triangle, woohoo (sorry to those who love them). It stayed true to it's genre and I like that. Not one genre trying to take over the other :).

A moving plot and the cover has more to say than I thought. This book is one of those that I loved from the beginning because of the cover. It caught my eye with the blue and wouldn't let me go until I bought it and brought it home in my warm embrace.

Remakes, why oh why?

So I was just on facebook and saw one of my favorite movies posted something on their page and the sad thing is, that they actually thought it would be exciting news.....what they didn't know was there was going to be a lot of backlash towards the idea.

A Dirty Dancing remake. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, what I just said is the latest remake in our midst. Why they think it's a good idea is beyond me.....okay, that's a lie. It's probably just a quick way of earning some big bucks, I've got a better idea for you Hollywood people, JUST PUT THE ORIGINAL BACK IN THEATER'S. You'll save so much more money that way and those millions could actually go to something useful. (I know....wishful thinking)

Sorry for that it's just I love this movie and I don't know about you people but.....I'm kind of tired of all the remakes coming out lately. Seriously Hollywood, you're really out of ideas were you have to continue making all of these horrid remakes.

Most of the time they're saying it's for the new generation and to tell you, I am apart of that generation and I fully believe this is a horrid idea. I grew up with this movie along with Footloose (sadly, that too, became apart of this new trend. Seriously just put the original back in theaters). I promise you'll get the old generation along with the new.

Whenever it was on TV no doubt we had it playing, whether to watch or just background noise that we could never get tired of.

Now, whether they think we won't like the original or what, they've got to change it for 'this' so called new generation. Which gives them the opportunity to use all the new fancy toys they got themselves. They think the new toys will make the movie better, but we all know it won't. Because sadly, it just won't have that old charm we all know and love.

So pretty much this is a post for my ranting and I'm sorry if you get lost and it's confusing, but.....I just had to get it out of my system. Truthfully I'm hoping this project fails and flops but I doubt that'll happen.

The only hope we all have is Kenny Ortega, whom choreographed the original and will be directing this remake. So cross our fingers that maybe some of the old charm will be there. I guess we'll see..... :(

And here's the songs, sorry to say a couple are only :30 seconds but anyways I hope you enjoy. Sorry it's a link for some reason the actual playlist just doesn't want to post today. http://pl.st/p/22343817995

Summer Songs (2)

I've been hearing this song alot lately, even though it came out last year, sad to say it took us that long to show case it like it should be showcased.

I probably hear this song maybe, 3 to 4 times a day on the radio but even then I never get tired of it. So ladies and gentlemen I give to you If I Die Young by The Band Perry,

My Super Psycho Sweet 16

The film follows a girl named Madison Penrose, spoiled throughout her life to the extent that she convinces her parents to re-open Roller dome for her Sweet 16. Obviously, the Roller dome once closed because a series of brutal murders took place at the locale, and, of course, the killer comes back to wreak havoc during her party.

So over the weekend I finally decided to sit down and take a few hours out of my life to watch one of Mad TVs original movies, My Super Psycho Sweet, which made it's debut on the screen October 23, 2009.

If you couldn't tell already that the genre is horror, it is. Reminded me more of all the older slashers films where it isn't to over the top with all the special effects, though, yes in times the blood scenes can be cheesy and you could tell they were added on later by computer but that's pretty much it.

Of course being a slasher means one by one everybody dies, except only the people who pick on the main girl. Friends of hers are left alone and out of the equation for death. Like most slashers you pretty much know who the psycho bad guy is but nonetheless, it doesn't take anything away from the film.

The acting was mediocre but sometimes it'll become a little more than that. For the main girl, who's been haunted from her fathers past, gets a sweet little innocent romance that'll just put a smile on any hopeless romantic out there. I know I couldn't help it, even though it was a horror.

Now the story develops nicely however there are some parts in the movie that feel a little slow but I don't think they're enough for you to have to shut off the TV screen, but, just forewarning. Like (not wanting to spoil but....) there's a favorite scene of mine that I just have to talk about that really gets the movie going, so...

When the dead girl rolls into the birthday girls ugly cake is amazing, and I know....I'm sick. So I promise you'll be entertained and for true horror fans if you see it on TV you've got to catch it. Now all I have to do is catch part 2 and yes, there's a part 2 for all those out there that have seen it but didn't like. But I'm not hating, we all have our likes and dislikes.  Over all I give it,
