~My Thoughts~

Note to self: never start a new book near my hubby when he's playing a really loud video game. Because of this I couldn't truly get into it and why I felt certain emotions towards it.

It was interesting from the very beginning but I just couldn't connect to any of the characters, which lead me to not really care about them. I couldn't fall into this world, actually every time I picked it up to read it would take a few chapters for me to get into it. But because I just wasn't really feeling this book I would literally try to avoid it. Pick up other reads or just do chores. 

Now, it wasn't the writing or the story that made me feel this way. It's got action, drama, and even a little bit of romance. This was all me, my doing.

Yeah, I did think about stopping, DNFing it but I thought it would get better. I mean, eventually I'll get into it, right? And like I said before, I eventually would after four or so chapters. Sigh, learned my lesson to never start a new book when hubby is playing his video games. And because I wasn't into it this read felt numbing to me, I could easily get distracted, and I felt like this would never end. Sadly, I read this book during a small reading slump. Most of the recent books I've been reading have only been 3 star books so it's got me down, scared the next book I pick up will be another 3 star rating. If I picked this book up another time, then I'm sure I would have enjoyed this. But it's too late now. 

Overall I did enjoy some parts, especially the last few chapters when we learn a little bit more about the very first vampire (in their generation). Will I read the next book, maybe. I just need to get out of this slump before I start it when it comes out.

~My Thoughts~

I was going in blind when I started this, I had no clue on what was going to happen next for this cast of characters as this morning Ms. Michaud finally revealed the summary on Goodreads. And to my surprise Alyx became an internet star overnight thanks to a family member of a friend of hers who happened to capture the large exorcism she preformed on her friends in the last book on film and that said family member uploading it on the net.

Now with her job of being an agent and going on espionage's this isn't a good thing. So her scheming boss decides to give her a new job- ghost busting. Let the fun begin! 

Though Alyx isn't too sure about going to rich peoples houses to get rid of ghost and getting paid for it is a good idea, she still goes along with it. I hate how blinded she is. I know this is like the only home, in her eyes, for her but how can you want to be apart of a world with lies, deceits, and no morality. She's blinded from all the stuff her boss keeps buying for her from the money she's bringing into the business. I love the academy aspect of this world Transcend provides for those that see the spirits but if this is the world you graduate into, um, no thank you. Even her sister hates who she's becoming to the point of hurting her, what a surprise that was! Did not expect that as they've got such a close bond, even if one of them is dead.

As we go deeper into the world of Transcend we start to learn more about her boss and the lengths he'll go to to make sure no one spills the beans about his business. Though I'm glad Skye is safe, it was seriously hard to read when she didn't recognize Alyx or Lukas. It also must have been hard for her to process that for a few days she wasn't herself.  

Overall, I really enjoyed this sequel and I devoured it! It was so good to fall back into this world, definitely after the many so-so reads I've been having. We're getting deeper into the world of Transcend and I'm excited to see where things go after this. Especially after that brilliant ending! I was in shock so I had to reread the last couple sentences to grasp and believe what a certain character did to save Alyx. The next book shall be interesting!

~My Thoughts~

I found this author on Instagram and from the teasers I just had to give it a shot. And it being free, well, that was just the cherry on the top ;) 

What a panty melting read, whoo, steamy! Though it felt like a porno (no I don't watch them haha) and the woman is cheating on her husband (I don't care if it's a bad marriage, it's still cheating), I was still able to enjoy this. It was hot, what can I say! And, I'm not really into cocky guys but if he's cocky in that department and delivers, then I'm lost to his charms (in books people, only in books).

Overall, what a hot number! I would love to continue the series but I'm hoping there'll be a story line to it like him falling in love instead of making multiple women's panties fall off just from one look of him haha. I guess we'll just have to see ;)
