Movie Review: Unfriended

~Summary~

While video chatting one night, six high school friends receive a Skype message from a classmate who killed herself exactly one year ago. At first they think it's a prank, but when the girl starts revealing the friends' darkest secrets, they realize they are dealing with something out of this world, something that wants them dead.

~My Thoughts~

Hubby and I went into this with low expectations as the movie is just about a group of friends skyping each other, so there's not much in setting. As they're skyping they have a tag alone who is using the account of their dead friend, Laura, as she killed herself at school. The only thing that's really scary about this is the feeling that someone hacked in an account and is now stalking the group of friends. Being hacked is scary as they can have all your information in just one click, they'll either use it to pretend to be you or to watch you. That's scary....

But that's not the case here. We're dealing with a vengeful ghost and honestly when you get to the end of the movie you'll realize that she didn't really need to kill off three of the characters. You see two of them posted this video which lead to Laura being bullied and in the end, her killing herself. The other characters were just truly killed off to bring in the suspense for the movie, nothing else. Which left me unsatisfied as they were in a way, innocent. Truly innocent.

Overall Hubby and I are happy we didn't go see this in the theaters and waste $20 on it. In the beginning it was quite boring and the characters started to bug me. It only got exciting when the characters started to die off one by one and some of those scenes were intense, which is why I'm rating this 2 bloody handprints.

Happy Viewings Everybody!
