~Summary~

In this retelling of Rick Riordans book, "The Sea of Monsters", Percy Jackson, accompanied by his friends Annabeth Chase, Clarisse La Rue and Tyson, his half brother, goes on a journey to the Sea of Monsters to retrieve the Golden Fleece and save Camp Half-Blood.

~My Thoughts~

First off, I’ve got to say this was so much better than the first one! Yes, the first one was good but Sea of Monsters was absolutely breathtaking! The storyline was consuming and so much more interesting than the first one! Starting with the beginning, though that scene felt a bit Hunger Games to me (though no one was dying haha), because the demi-gods were in a competition. A pretty extreme one at that and the reason why I say it felt a bit like the Hunger Games is because one of the careers was in the movie, Glimmer, and even in this movie the actress’s character is quite intense too. But other than that, that’s where the comparisons stop as the rest is quite original. As original you can get with using Greek mythology as the bases of your story.
In Sea of Monsters we get to learn a little more about why Annabeth, Grover, and Luke are no longer close buddies and that flashback scene was so heart breaking and I was sitting on the edge of my seat. Actually, throughout this movie I was sitting on the edge! Again, way better than the first one!
Their past is coming forth and the part that connects to past, present, and future is in dire trouble. If Percy and his gang doesn’t do anything soon the whole camp is in trouble thanks a lot to Luke. Who doesn’t love Luke! Ugh, you want to hate him but at the same time you can’t (well, I can’t haha). He’s a pretty badass character with a deep hurt and that’s why he’s doing the things he’s doing.
Overall, this was amazing! There was tons of fun, intense action, and with unique characters in every corner of the movie you can’t help get sucked in! Tyson was adorable, The Fates were awesome, Hermes was cool, and all those mythological beasts were skin crawling! This is a must see! And I’m sure book lovers of this series will love this one better than the first!

It will take possession over you

Happy Viewing Everybody!
