Let me just say, these covers are gorgeous!! I'm probably going to buy Incubus, book 2, just for the cover alone! I'm enjoying Thrall and probably one day I'll buy that one too so they can all look pretty on the shelves together haha.

 

You guys should most definitely check out this series! It's about a supernatural being that isn't talked a lot about in the Young Adult world and I'm loving it!!

 

This read makes me crave to work on my own Succubus story that I had to put on the side....:)

~My Thoughts~

So…this was a bit of a roller coaster ride for me.

In the beginning I was hooked but then I started to notice things, like how self-centered and conceited Rose can be. And the boys, the constant boys all falling for Rose, seriously?!? Yeah, this definitely fits in the fantasy category. In my opinion I’m not a big fan and it’s probably cause I can’t really relate to that. Some of you might sure but for me, no haha.

In the first book I never really noticed all this. Omg, I loved the first book but now thanks to the movie trailer, the first trailers that only centered on the “girl drama”, this made me look at this book like this was just another silly paranormal romance. So for a little while, I walked away from it.

But when the trailers started to show more of the “Vampire drama” I was craving to get back to Frostbite. That’s what held me, the action! Not Rose or the teen drama but what was going on in the paranormal world. What held me and got me hooked was when things were truly happening, when the Strigoi started to band together to take out the royals. All of that was awesome!! And was able to blind me from how selfish Rose was. Plus Lisa and how certain other mysterious started to unfold and reveal themselves to us is another part of the book that hooked me.

Overall, at the end I’m glad Rose woke up from her ways and saw the consequences they brought to the people she cares about, so hopefully that will flow into the next book. I’ll probably be borrowing Shadow Kiss (Vampire Academy #3) later this year as I am curious to where things will go next. But for now I need to catch up on a few other piles haha. If you liked the first book then I most definitely recommend this one!

I finished the beer, considered going back to bed, but decided Zelen would keep snoring, and I could use another drink. I threw the empty bottle in the trash and opened the fridge.

I closed it when I heard mumbling.

I kept still, paying attention to it. The mumbling sounded louder this time, and I followed it. I ended up facing the first bedroom’s door. Nadine’s.

“No,” I heard her voice through the door. “Oh, God, please, no!”

Knowing exactly what was going on, I swung the door open and entered the bedroom.

“Nicole,” she whimpered, thrashing in her bed. “No, no!”

I closed the door behind me and rushed to her side. “Nadine,” I called her, touching her shoulder. “Wake up, Nadine.”

“Oh, God, Morgan.” Then she screamed.

I grabbed her upper arms and shook her, not too hard, but not too gentle either. “Nadine!”

Her scream died out and her eyes flew open.

“It was just a nightmare,” I said. Her lips quavered before she hid her face behind her hands. “It’s okay, darling, you’re safe.”

She shook her head. “But they aren’t,” she said, her voice breaking.

For a moment, I was undecided about what to do. Just pat her arm, tell her she was okay, and leave? That would be the right action. I had to keep my distance from her.

I groaned. Who was I kidding? I knew exactly what I wanted to do, and for once, I did it. I pulled back her comforter and slipped under it with her.

She peeked at me through her fingers, and I held back a chuckle.

I lay in her bed and opened my arms for her. “Come here.” Her hands slipped away from her face, and she stared at me with teary eyes. “I’ll take care of you. Come here.”

She scooted closer, turning her back to my chest and fitting her tight little ass on my hips.

I took a hard inhale. By the Everlast.

What the hell? This was paradise and I was going to enjoy it. I passed my arms around her waist, placed my head on the crook of her neck, and inhaled deeply again, savoring her sweet wild rose scent, and her perfect, warm body—clad in a skimpy tank top and shorts—pressed to mine.

She sniffed and I tried snapping out of it.

Great. The cavalry had arrived. I flicked my gaze over to my other best friend Hannah, staring at me incredulously from her position in the doorway, where she had joined Festos.

Festos patted Hannah on the shoulder affectionately before edging past her to leave.

I reluctantly tore my eyes from his retreating figure to meet her bemused gaze.

Allies. That’s what I needed. “There’s too much at stake right now—like your future for example—for us to be going out on a—”

She flapped a hand at me. “Get dressed.”

I looked down at what I was wearing. Which was basically what I always wore. A long-sleeved black T-shirt and baggy black pants. “I’m dressed.”

Hannah rolled her eyes. “Pierce,” she called out.

Her boyfriend trotted into the room at her call. “Yeah, love?”

Hannah pointed to a spot in front of me. “Stand there and look pretty, so this idiot gets the picture.”

Pierce nodded. He got into position and, with a toss of his blond tousled head, adopted the most pouty model boy expression imaginable. He winked at me, obviously amused.

Hannah blinked at him. “Whoa. That’s pretty … pretty.”

“Down, Saul,” I said. “Besides, he’s the God of Love. I’m sure there’s some kind of inherent pretty built into his DNA. With me?” I cast a skeptical look down at myself. “Festos knows what he’s getting.”

Pierce pulled up a desk chair and turned it around to straddle it.

Hannah kicked my legs away so she could sit down on the bed next to Sophie. She picked her friend’s hand up to clasp between her own. Her lip quivered as she stared at her friend but she quickly replaced any concern with a determined glare my way.

She crossed her legs and leaned forward toward me. “Have you seen that boy’s room? It’s like a hurricane went off in there. He’s going nuts trying to find the perfect outfit for this special event and you can’t even get changed?” She tucked a strand of her blond hair behind her ear.

I swung my head in Sophie’s direction. “Did you not notice your bestie lying there unconscious?”

Her hand tightened on Sophie’s. “Don’t be an idiot. Or drag Soph into this. We’re here. Nothing else is going to happen to her. She needs to heal. And don’t pull any of that ‘fate of the universe’ crap either. It’s one night. So, next excuse. I’ll shoot that down too.”

I closed my eyes. There was silence for a blessed moment.

“You feel guilty, don’t you?” She spoke softly.

I shrugged, my eyes still closed.

I felt her make the sign of the cross over me. “I absolve you of guilt, Prometheus.”

I gave a faint smile. “I’m not Catholic.”

“Well, I have no idea how to absolve a Greek God.”

“Titan,” I murmured. “And I’m not even that anymore.”

Told in three voices and punctuated by news articles chronicling the family’s story, FALLOUT is the stunning conclusion to the trilogy begun by CRANK and GLASS, and a testament to the harsh reality that addiction is never just one person’s problem.


Fallout is the conclusion to the Crank trilogy, which also contained Crank and Glass. Though Crank is still my favorite, and the other two don't come close, Fallout is the second best of the series.

I found that a lot of things that I felt about the first two books I felt about Fallout. The writing and plot ere great. The ending was kind of heart breaking. And I like that the focus shifted from Kristina to her children. It was great seeing how the effects of her addiction trickled down to effect her children's lives. Add in the newspaper articles describing what happened to some side characters from the other books and you get a nice conclusion to the trilogy.

The book has three narrators: Hunter, Autumn, and Summer. My favorite was Hunter. That probably was because he had the most defined voice. Autumn and Summer blended together for most of the first half of the book. Once they found their separate voices they were a lot better. Nikki, Bryce, Kyle were good counterparts to their respective partners. Most of the adults just fit their roles and that was perfectly fine.

Overall, Fallout is a great book and a great conclusion to a great trilogy. I happily recommend this book  and this trilogy.
