Publication Date: March 31, 2014
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance

~Summary~

The Team is growing. It’s no longer just Ford, Spencer, and Ronin and the three new additions have Spencer Shrike off his booze, off his bikes, and paranoid to the extreme. Every Team member has a job, and every job is important—but only Spencer’s job keeps everyone alive.

Veronica Vaughn has put up with Spencer Shrike’s shit for years and where has it gotten her? A big fat nowhere. No ring, no house, no kids, and no promises. In fact, Spencer is worse than ever—completely distant and moody—and his fascination with weapons has turned into an obsession.

Now there’s another man in town with his eye on her. And she’s ready to jump ship. The last thing on Spencer’s mind is a relationship, and Veronica Vaughn has had enough.

But what if Spencer has a reason to keep Veronica at arm’s length? What if her life depends on his painful indifference? And what if… a very dangerous man with a very real vendetta sees through his ruse with killer clarity?

GUNS brings the entire Rook and Ronin series full circle. Every con, every lie, and every skeleton in the closet is back for one final shot at vengeance and the only thing standing in the way… is Spencer Shrike.

J.A. Huss

J. A. Huss likes to write new adult books that make you think and keep you guessing. Her favorite genre to read is space opera, but since practically no one reads those books, she writes new adult science fiction, paranormal romance, contemporary romance, urban fantasy, and books about Junco (who refuses to be saddled with a label).

She has an undergraduate degree in horses, (yes, really–Thank you, Colorado State University) and a master’s degree in forensic toxicology from the University of Florida. She used to have a job driving around Colorado doing pretty much nothing but shooting the breeze with farmers, but now she just writes, runs the New Adult Addiction and Clean Teen Reads Book Blogs, and runs an online science classroom for homeschoolers.

Sunday Songs (41) How Could I Want More

"Lying in the green grass
Underneath the blue sky
Looking at a good man
Who ought to be the right guy
He's got that kinda heart that
Any girl would die for"

"Treats me like a princess
Lets me have it my way
I could tell he's hanging
On every word that I say
All he does is love me
He swears that's what he's here for"

This was a complete surprise! Found this Thursday night, the same day I had to say "see you later" to my Marine, and finding this song feels like a sign from fate, haha. It had me choked up as I want "more" sooner than later but I've got to be patient.

Was glued to the hip with my love since the 24th, so it's weird having to go back to "normal", to not be waking up with him by my side. So I can't wait till that day where I'm able to get that more I want.

Thanks Jamie Lynn for this song!

Genre: Young Adult Horror
Pages: 166
Format: Hardcopy

~Summary~

After escaping a secret military complex amid the zombie apocalypse, B roams the streets of a very changed London, dirty and dangerous and eerily quiet, except for the shuffling of the undead. Once again, B must find a way to survive against brain-eating zombies --and now also against those who have seized control of the city. With danger lurking around every corner and no one to trust, B must decide whether to join the creepy Mr. Dowling in exchange for his protection. When everyone around you is dead, where do you turn for help?

~My Thoughts~

This fell so flat and boring after the high of the ending of the second book, Zom-B Underground. Just, ugh!! It makes me want to pull out my hair and I freaking love my bright auburn hair!
If I actually liked the main character I think I would have enjoyed this so much better! However, I dislike her and don’t really give a fuck to what happens to her. Sad, I know. It’s even sadder that I want to continue to read this series. The endings are always a pretty decent cliffhanger!
If you’re not a fan of cliffhangers then you should stay clear of this zombie series. You should also stay away from this series if you like to know where the storyline is going and trust me, you won’t know where the fuck it’s going for this series! I’m so confused and wondering what on earth the author is thinking! This book makes me think he should have stopped at number two but I understand why he couldn’t, because of that freaking cliffhanger!
The journey for B in this book is interesting and like I said, if I actually cared for her I would have enjoyed this book so much more. But since I don’t, this one fell so low and after reading the second book I honestly thought this series was looking up!
Wrong!
Oh so wrong!
Honestly I don’t see the point of this series! I have no connection to B and there’s really no other characters to get connected to, so the reader is just stuck. I’m just torn!
Overall, after the ending of Zom-B Underground I had high expectations for this one. That was a bad decision because this was so lackluster. The few exciting things that happened around B were very few and far apart, making this a dull read. I was so excited to see more of the creepy clown yet he only showed up until the end, the freaking end! Ugh, where is this series going?! Honestly I don’t recommend you read Zom-B because once you start this series, you won’t be able to stop.

P.S. I like the writing and the author has some good ideas but if only I liked the main character and the author actually executed the ideas better, this would have been an more enjoyable read....

It will make you shrill

Book Spotlight: Zoey Rogue (Incubatti #1) by Lizzy Ford

Zoey Rogue (Incubatti, #1)
Zoey Rogue (Incubatti #1) by Lizzy Ford
Publication Date: May 10th 2013
Genre: New Adult/Adult Urban Fantasy

~Summary~

** Recommended for ages 17+ due to sexual situations, language and mature subject matter **

He only needs three nights to make her his …

With more heart than sense, fearless, beautiful Zoey has saved countless college-aged women from horrifying deaths at the hands of supernatural sadists. She may be a mere half-succubus in a society that views half-breeds with derision, but she still retains the highest rescue rate of any Hunter in the Sucubatti society.

As the calm, disciplined leader of the Incubatti Enforcers, Declan is the polar opposite of Zoey – and the sworn enemy of her society. Forced to rescue her one night, Declan realizes two things: he doesn’t need someone as wild and independent as Zoey in his life – and he can’t live without her.

In this world, there’s only one incubus for every sucubatti and Zoey and Declan are stuck with each other. They’re just as likely to kill each other as they are to yield to each other’s sex magic.

She has authority issues and drinks too much. He is the irresistibly sexy incubus pre-ordained to tame her. Neither can fight their intense attraction, and yet trusting each other is out of the question.

What happens when their worlds crash down around them?

Strike three. You’re mine.

Cutepolish Adventures (3)

Cutepolish is a channel on YouTube and I absolutely love it! It's about a female that does simple nail designs. So instead of wasting money at a salon, you can take the time and do them yourselves!

I've done quite a few and it's so much fun!

This weeks is super simple and completely creative!! I did it Sunday for mine and my Marines dinner date, while watching Paranormal Activity 4 with him by my side haha! <3

Some stripes were a little thick cause I coated the picks with too much polish, so I'll most definitely be doing this design again so I can get my desired result!

Anyways, here's a picture...

With this design you can choose any colors you'd like to use!

I used:

Clear base and Top Coat
Silver & Red base
Red, Pink, & Silver for the Stripes
3 Floss Picks

In just a few simple steps, you too can have this fun design! To learn how, just follow this video. I promise, you'll have a blast!

Until next time....<3

Sweet designing everybody!

January Random Reads

Hosted by I'm Loving Books!

What is Random Reads?

In short, Random Reads is a meme where we pick a random book from our shelf to read within the month. I’m on Goodreads so I’m using a combination of the sorting feature and Random.org to pick the book I’m going to read.

I'm just randomly picking two books from my TBR pile, I'm going to be picking two different books from different piles! My Received for Review (cause I feel bad that I'm slow to getting to the novels) and TBR pile, as I seriously need to make both of those piles smaller! So, here we go!

November Picks:

Happy Birthday To Me (Birthday Trilogy #1): I started it but it didn't quite hooked me, was in a reading slump though, so I'll try this one again!

Whisper of Death: Oh my god! "His story telling is hypnotizing and absolutely spine chilling"

Now for this months picks:

The Strigoi are closing in, and the Academy’s not taking any risks... This year, St. Vlad’s annual holiday ski trip is mandatory.
