Summary

On Lily Sanderson’s eighteenth birthday she’ll become just a girl—still a mergirl, true, but signing the renunciation will ink Princess Waterlily of Thalassinia out of existence. That leaves plain old Lily living on land, dating the boy she loves, and trying to master this being-human thing once and for all.

Now that Lily and Quince are together, mer bond or not, she’s almost content to give up her place in the royal succession of Thalassinia. But just when she thinks she has everything figured out, the waves start to get rough. Lily’s father sends a certain whirlpool-stirring cousin to stay with her on land. What did Doe do to get herself exiled from Thalassinia and stuck in terraped form, when everyone knows how much she hates humans? And why why why is she batting her eyelashes at Lily’s former crush, Brody?

The seafoam on the raging surf comes when a merboy from Lily’s past shows up—Tellin asks Lily for something that clouds her view of the horizon. There’s a future with Quince on land, her loyalty to the kingdom in the sea, and Lily tossing on the waves in the middle. Will she find a way to reconcile her love, her duty, and her own dreams?

I just adored the first one, Forgive My Fins, and I can't wait to post a review for it. Reading the ending and the little tease of this book makes me crave for it badly. However I all ready bought my books for the month. So I guess I'll just have to get it from the library. Woohoo, actually. Saves me money.

Anyways, I love the covers of the series. They are all goergous and I love the light hearted fun story lines Miss. Childs writes. Can't wait to dive in.

I loved the short story she has out on amazon for free, Intuition (review to come). It gives you a taste of her writing and a taste of what's to come from this book. Everything about it screams my name so I can't wait to get my hands on it one day.

Spring Break-athon

It's spring break my babies and I'm so excited!

This athon is for me to catch up and I can not wait to dive into every single book I have planned out. But not only am I going to have book reviews planned for you guys, I'm also going to catch up on my movie watching time. I've got tons saved on the DVR and I'm hoping to clear some of them too.

So, Book Reviews to look out for-

Forgive My Fins by Tera Lynn Childs- I started this Sunday so that review should be coming up some time this weekend. So far it's great and I most definitely will want the second. :)

Love & Leftovers by Sarah Tregay

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher- now that I have the chance to sit down and enjoy this baby I'm going to take it. Can't wait. I already know there will be tears. *box at hand*

Torn by Amanda Hocking- I know I said I would read it closer to the thirds release but.... I just can't wait.  My review for Switched is here

And lastly in the hardcovers is-

Unbelievable by Sara Shepard- ever since the spring final of Pretty Little Liars I've just been wanting to read this bad girl. Even more than before.

I've started a few stories during some time this month and would love to finish them.

Beautiful Demons by Sarra Cannon- it's okay, I see a lot of similar stuff in this book that I've read in others so it's taking me some time. However, I'm going to finish it.

Six Moon Summer by S.M. Reine- I'm loving it and I can not wait to see where she takes this.

Intuition by J Meyers- I started this yesturday and since it's a short story I'll probably finish it soon and the review should be up some time this weekend. :)

Now the movies, I don't know which ones I'm going to be watching but I can say a lot of horror & Syfy. Hopefully I'm not biting to much off as I have other little things I have to do for school but I want a challenge and be able to see if I can accomplish it.

So there you go. I'll update if there is anything to update besides reviews. Plus, there will be a review this weekend for the Hunger Games. Maybe a review from both of us put together as I am taking my sister as her birthday gift.

Happy Week Everybody!

Spring Break 3/30-4/8

Our Teasers This Week. . .

Thomas had no concept of time as he went through the Changing. Time streached on. And on. Fear turned into curiosity, which turned into boredom.
Finally, after an interminable wait, things began to change.

Well, that's one thing in a row that's not a complete disaster. It's not like I could exactly explain a seagull showing up at our kitchen window with a message tied to his leg.

-from page 19, Forgive My Fins by Tera Lynn Childs

*sighs* It's so good to be back at this. Enjoy our teasers. Plus, can't wait to write a review for this book and for you all to read it. :)

Review: Witch and Wizard by James Patterson and Gabrielle Charbonnet

Summary

The world is changing: the government has seized control of every aspect of society, and now, kids are disappearing. For 15-year-old Wisty and her older brother Whit, life turns upside down when they are torn from their parents one night and slammed into a secret prison for no reason they can comprehend. The New Order, as it is known, is clearly trying to suppress Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Being a Normal Teenager. But while trapped in this totalitarian nightmare, Wisty and Whit discover they have incredible powers they'd never dreamed of. Can this newly minted witch and wizard master their skills in time to save themselves, their parents--and maybe the world?
This is the second book of James Patterson's that I read. I liked both of them, though the first one, The Dangerous Days of Daniel X, I thought was better.
How would you feel if you found out your parents had been keeping a secret from you all your life?

The two main characters, Wisty and her older brother Wit, were okay. I liked her more then him. At times he felt a little whine and a little to heartbroken. Other then that he was kinda witty, and brave when he needed to be, like his sister.
The plot was decent and  set up pretty well for a sequel. The book is a mix of fantasy and a bit of dystopia. And no, just because it is dystopia doesn't mean it's like the hunger games. This book is nothing like the Hunger Games, believe me.
It's also not the next Harry Potter. I know some people said that, and it's not true. I read all of the Harry Potters, and other than the witch and wizard stuff, they're nothing alike.
Anyway, it's a fun read. If your a fan of fantasy or new to the fantasy genre, than this isn't a bad book to pick up.
I also recommend the author, James Patterson. I know his writing style might not be for everybody, but I think it's not bad.

A great webisode series for any hopeless romantic

So a few years ago I used to be really into this online series called I <3 Vampires created by Take180 and just the other day I just decided out of the blue to see if they just might happen created a third season. They didn't but I found something amazing out of the search.

Created by the same people comes in place of a fun, light hearted, humorous show great for hopeless romantics. I just couldn't get enough of it even though I knew I had to get to bed before midnight so I could at least get some sleep for school the next day.

The show is called First Day which is about this teenage girl who has a bad first day at a new school. At night she was talking to her favorite stuff dog and wished for sort of a do over. And just guess what....she does.

She'll have to redo that day until she gets it just right. But before that she will go through a few crazy stunts to get what she wants and it's just so funny.

Since it's a romanic I just have to talk about the leading man. Ryan, totes swoon worthy ladies. He's the cool guy but totally a sweet heart. And I just couldn't help fall for him, too. Everytime Cassie did a crazy thing to try to get his attention it was always so funny seeing his reactions to them. Yet still yummy.

Overall a quick fun series that'll just grip you.

Happy Viewing Everybody!

Waiting on Wednesday (26)

Welcome to Waiting on Wednesday! Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases we are eagerly anticipating. This week I am anxiously awaiting:

The Last Guardian (Artemis Fowl #8) by Eoin Colfer
Publication Date: July 10, 2012
Genre: YA Fantasy
Pages: 304

Summary

Seemingly nothing in this world daunts the young criminal mastermind Artemis Fowl. In the fairy world, however, there is a small thing that has gotten under his skin on more than one occasion: Opal Koboi. In The Last Guardian, the evil pixie is wreaking havoc yet again. This time his arch rival has somehow reanimated dead fairy warriors who were buried in the grounds of Fowl Manor. Their spirits have possessed Artemis’s little brothers, making his siblings even more annoying than usual. The warriors don’t seem to realize that the battle they were fighting when they died—a battle against Artemis—is long over. Artemis has until sunrise to get the spirits to vacate his brothers and go back into the earth where they belong. Can he count on a certain LEPrecon fairy to join him in what could well be his last stand?

The Artemis Fowl series that I will greatly recommend for readers of all ages. It's fun, a fast read, and entertaining. And I can't wait for the next one.

Thomas wondered long and hard about Alby. It'd seemed such a victory just to save his life, bring him back from a night in the Maze. But had it been worth it?

Review: Facing Facts

*Some spoilers- if you have not yet read the three books in the Darkest Power Trilogy by Kelley Armstrong*

Facing Facts by Kelley Armstrong
Pages: 30

Summary

Taking place after the third book they finally get a chance to try to live normal. Yes, still hiding out and they can't draw to much attention to themselves, like, having Chloe and Derek being lovey dovey out in public as they are pretending to be step siblings but it's better than it was before.

That is until Kit- Derek and Simon's father- tells Tori that she is his and the father she has always known isn't really her father. With that and the other things she has lost with time she runs off and Chloe goes after thinking she can get her back before she can get to far away.

However things turn for the worst.

If you've fallen in love with this series as much as I have and I mean you just can't get enough of Chloe and Derek, then you'll just love this short Kelley has written just for you fans.

Derek is the first fictional character I have truly fallen for. I just can't get enough of him. He puts a smile on my face. And I believe Chloe and Derek are just the cutest couple ever. Kelley truly made these characters feel real for me and I'm glad to see little shorts like this one.

There's twist and turns, action and ghost. Another great from Kelley. Plus, I didn't see the ending coming at all. Just.....Amazing. <3

Another reason why you should buy this book. :)

Review: At the Late Night, Double Feature, Picture Show

At the Late Night, Double Feature, Picture Show by Jessica Verday
Pages: 29

Her contribution is "At the Late Night, Double Feature, Picture Show" - a story about a girl who hunts monsters, vampires in drag, and cannibal girl scouts.

OhMyGod, ever since that description she wrote up there on her blog I just couldn't wait to read it.

Being a short story I took this today and read it while my head was soaking up the red dye. I couldn't put it down even with the noise going on around me in the beauty shop- it was that good!

Humor, action and fun new twist on some mythical creatures. Jane trying to prove to her family she can be more than just bait ends up of having a wirlwind of a night. Getting caught up with one monster after another. However, some might surprise you just as much as it surprised her and it just puts a smile on my face. :)

Simply perfect.

That's all I can say and that I can't wait to read other things by Jessica as this was a first. Oh, and you need to go get yourself a copy of this book, too.

I'm guessing you all heard of James Patterson. I've only read one of his books, The dangerous days of Daniel X, and currently reading Witch and Wizard. Both of which I like. I also got his book The Angel Experiment. Well, the two books on my wishlist this week are two of his.

Indies again <3

Airborne (Airborne Saga #1) by Constance Sharper

Genre: YA Fantasy
Pages: 318

Summary

Avery knew she had a knack for attracting trouble, but even she is shocked when a six-foot-something harpie shows up on her doorstep. Coping with the existence of a mythological race? Okay. Unwittingly finding herself in the middle of a vicious harpie conflict? A little less okay. Having to rely on an arrogant harpie boy who gets under her skin? Now that is something Avery isn't sure she can handle.

Freakin' Harpies! Hell yeah! I have yet to read any books with harpies and me personally would love to see some new mythical creatures out there in the young adult world.

An Apple For Zoë The Forsaken (The Forsaken #1) by Thomas Amo
Publication Date: February 10th 2011
Genre: Mystery
Pages: 319

Summary

Some Murders Shouldn't Be Investigated

The City of San Francisco is locked in a grip of fear. A series of occult murders has led, Inspector Thomas James, to a crime scene similar to a murder committed 90 years ago in the once grand Aleris Hotel. A place where power barons of the early 20th Century engaged in witchcraft. And silent film stars indulged in the most wicked of sins.

A place where no one questions the black smoke that rises from the hotel's incinerators in the middle of the night.
