~My Reaction~
When I saw that I had another email from Emma asking if I could review yet another short story of hers!
~My Thoughts~
~Was provided to me by the author in exchange for an honest review~
End of the Line is one of those
short stories where it is told perfectly well that you can envision it being
turned into a full length novel. It’s one where at the end of the tale you wish
that it actually was. I told this to my boyfriend and he asks,
"Would you be as into it
as you would a short story? I would think a short story is more exciting
because it’s straight to the story and no character background."
I answered "Oh I'm sure I
would but you're right, short stories are more exciting however if they are
done well, they can make you crave more and that's when you wished it was a
full length book." So yea, here I am wishing once again for a short story to
be turned into a novel. Which I see Emma is very good at here ^_^.
You see in the beginning that
Cassie is trying to kill herself by standing on some train tracks and waiting
for the midnight train to get here, but always jumping away in time before it
could hit her. They say the third times the charm right. On Cassie's third try
at suicide, she believes she's got it right and that she'll go through with it
till a surprise drives right through her, literally.
With a paranormal twist we are
sprung into this question we have all asked ourselves in our lives at one point
or another "Should I or shouldn't I" and that is one question Cassie
was granted to ask herself, among fellow victims to suicide.
I believe this is great for teens and up. It’s
told about a subject that is hard to deal with and to talk about but I think
whoever wants to read it should as it
shows you that you do have a choice after all.
