~Summary~

Everyone wants to get nailed.

Sometimes the first thing you feel for someone is lust. Maybe it's for a stranger. It might be someone you've only just noticed, or someone whom you've known, but aren't allowed to want. Maybe you just don't know if they're affected by you, if the sound of their voice or the way they touch your hand makes them as crazy as it makes you.

Or, perhaps they want you just as badly as you want them. Sometimes, it's all you can do to stop yourself from acting on it.

#getnailed with these erotic shorts, coming 2015.

~My Thoughts~

Shhh! is about a young couple that has a intimate moment in a library.

Wow! So, I actually had to read this again because the first time I read it, I couldn't quite get into it because our cockapoo Alfred was just too hyper for me to truly read- even if it was only 3 pages. So, before I could write a review, I had to read it again to truly be able to do it.

And I'm so glad I did! I can just get lost in the worlds Mrs. Hart creates for us! For the first time in the Nailed series we get a name of a character and this time around, it's a more intimate interaction. Reading this short had me breathless because I could totally see this happening between me and my hubby. I know whenever we go to the library, strolling the aisle's, trying to figure out which ones to borrow this time, that he falls in love with me all over again. It's written all over his face. That is how the main guy feels- did I mention this time we're behind the guys eyes- and it is truly a wonderful short. Mrs. Hart just knows how to sweep me off my feet. Truly beautiful! Can't wait to read the next one!

Review: Blood Red Riding Hood (Zombie Fairy Tales #4) by Kevin Richey

Blood Red Riding Hood (Zombie Fairy Tales #4)
Blood Red Riding Hood (Zombie Fairy Tales #4) by Kevin Richey
Publication Date: April 13th, 2012
Genre: Zombie Horror
Pages: 44
Format: Paperback (Zombie Fairy Tales Collection)
Source: Gifted
Read: April 27th, 2015

~Summary~

After zombie wolves attack one of her admirers, Red Riding Hood fears the woods may never be safe again. But when the man returns from the wolves' clutches with deadly new appetites, she must take a dark new path to reach her grandmother's house—a path drenched with blood.

~My Thoughts~

I love stories that involve wolves and ones that are disturbing and monstrous are exactly the ones I love to read about! I was absolutely excited to read Blood Red Riding Hood! I was instantly hooked finding we got to be behind the eyes of the huntsman.

The huntsman is escorting (I believe) Red and her Grandmother through the woods until a pack of decaying wolves surround them. For them to get away, Grandma the badass she is, decides to take out the huntsman's knee and leaves him to the wolves. When I read this, my eyes bugged out and I just had to see what was going to happen next!

So much happens next, I feel like this one was the most action packed one I've read yet! This is definitely a path drenched with blood for Red. I just couldn't get enough of it! And as she's running for her grandmothers home we get a glimpse of characters from the previous stories, love!

Overall, Blood Red Riding Hood was AWESOME! The details were amazing, the pace was perfect, and honestly, I didn't want it to end! And the ending was brilliant, Red finally got her wish. I thought that was a unique twist Kevin Richey brought to the table with this retailing. I just can't get enough of this series!

~About the Author~

I’m a book-writing, selfie-taking, latte-drinking, social media gal. I’m living a good life on the road as a full-fledged Bedouin (Well, except, my tent is actually a fully-equipped RV.) Me and my partner-in-crime (Benj) tend to hunker down wherever the skies are clear and the temps stay in the 70’s. We call ourselves Gypsy Nerds because we aimlessly wander the U.S. with glasses perched upon our noses and faces jammed into computer screens (for the first half the day... The second half of the day is typically devoted to playing because we’re also somewhat immature.)

Like most authors, the characters I create are my extended family.  And like most readers, when the story ends, I get a little sad. In real life, I have two handsome, hardworking, grown-up boys who know how to make their Mama proud! *Waves to Joey and Mike!*

The Ascension Series is my debut into the world of YA fiction.

I’m living what I love and loving what I live!

~Summary~

Just listen, Adam says with a voice that sounds like shrapnel.

I open my eyes wide now.
I sit up as much as I can.
And I listen.

Stay, he says.

Choices. Seventeen-year-old Mia is faced with some tough ones: Stay true to her first love—music—even if it means losing her boyfriend and leaving her family and friends behind?

Then one February morning Mia goes for a drive with her family, and in an instant, everything changes. Suddenly, all the choices are gone, except one. And it's the only one that matters.

If I Stay is a heartachingly beautiful book about the power of love, the true meaning of family, and the choices we all make.

~My Thoughts~

Honestly, I didn't fall head over heels for this one like everyone else has. I didn't really get into it until Mia and her family got into the car accident, it was the first moment that pulled at my heart strings. But honestly, there weren't as many moments like this in here like I thought there would be with a story like this. The only other moments were when her grandfather, best friend, and he boyfriend came to talk to her and those moments were far in between. Sad to say, the rest of the story was so-so for me.

In all honesty, I completely forgot what the main characters name was and when someone spoke it I was like, "Who's Mia? Oh yeah, that's the main girl". How sad is that? Especially since this is supposed to be a heart retching story. Not saying that it didn't have it's moments but with all the flashbacks, I just didn't feel completely connected and honestly didn't care.

Now those flashbacks, I understand they're the drive of the story, of Mia deciding if she wants to stay or go, and for us to get to know the characters. But sometimes, it took me a while to figure out why this one flashback was so important. Sometimes I wondered why this flashback was needed. Some of the flashbacks I liked, I really enjoyed the ones with her boyfriend. However, sometimes I just felt bored. There was one point I thought about putting it down. I think I was just bored with Mia. I enjoyed everyone else but her.

I don't know exactly what it was that made me bored of Mia because her characters life is real and her insecurities, I've felt those same insecurities too. Like, "Why does he really like me?" Maybe I wasn't bored, maybe I just didn't like her as a person. Especially when it came to her relationship. It felt very one sided. Like, he would go out of his way to be apart of her world. Yet, when he wanted her apart of his world she just wouldn't give it a try. I honestly don't know what her boyfriend saw in her because she didn't really try to be apart of his world. Except one night and it was on Halloween so she wasn't really being her.

I thoroughly enjoyed the side characters more than Mia. Her sweet grandparents, her grandfather for saying it's okay if she wants to go, he understood why she might not want to stay. Her best friend for getting her boyfriend and trying to help Mia's boyfriend get to see her, though a tad bit extreme I still enjoyed this moment. And for Willow who helped everyone get a visit with Mia because she knew that Mia needed to see that she still has family here.

I wished I fell head over heels for If I Stay. It's a short easy read but I felt like I was detached from it, I couldn't completely connect. The writing style was different and sometimes I had to reread sentences to make sure I understood what the author was saying, those moments put a hitch in the flow of my reading. But I also see why it was made into a movie. That's the main reason why I read it and probably all the hype gave me high expectations. Though I wasn't a big fan of it, I'm glad I read it nonetheless. Will I read the sequel? Maybe, but I'm not rushing to read it. I rather come up with my own happy ending for Mia.

Entangled Teen

~Summary~

Never judge a dragon by her human cover...

Sixteen-year-old Kitty Lung has everyone convinced she’s a normal teen—not a secret government operative, not the one charged with protecting the president’s son, and certainly not a were-dragon. The only one she trusts with the truth is her best friend—and secret crush—the über-hot Bulisani Mathe.

Then a junior operative breaks Rule Number One by changing into his dragon form in public—on Kitty’s watch—and suddenly, the world knows. About dragons. About the Draconic Intelligence Command (DIC) Kitty works for. About Kitty herself.

Now the government is hunting down and incarcerating dragons to stop a public panic, and a new shape-shifting enemy has kidnapped the president’s son. Kitty and Bulisani are the last free dragons, wanted by both their allies and their enemies. If they can’t rescue the president’s son and liberate their fellow dragons before getting caught themselves, dragons might never live free again.

~Excerpt~

“Do you hear that?” he says.
“You mean the crashing thunder and pounding rain?”
He shakes his head. I listen closely, trying to filter out the sounds of the storm.
Then I hear it. A whooshing sound with a fast buzzing underneath it. It’s so, so familiar but I can’t quite put my finger on it. A very definite black spot appears among the dark gray clouds. The spot lengthens horizontally.
The puzzle pieces click into place and I get the full picture: Fighter jet. Headed straight for us. It could be a coincidence, right? F-22 Raptors fly low through giant thunderstorms over major metropolitan areas in the middle of the night all the time. Right.
My illusions of a coincidence are shattered - by a missile flying straight at me. It would seem this guy has infrared, too. I mean, missiles? Really? Isn’t that a bit overkill? I start flying away, but Sani stops me.

They say time heals all wounds.

What a load of bull. It’s been four years, and Kate’s voice still echoes in my mind.

 I can’t let her go.

And I sure as hell didn’t plan to miss her when she walked out of my front door.

Now, if I want to keep her, I have to straighten myself out and earn her. I can’t screw this up.

Because if I do, I’ll lose more than just Lia.

When faced with the darkness, Addy must decide to cling to her new life and friends or let the monster carry her away. The choice is hers, sink or swim.

~Character Interview~

Interview with Napoleon Blake, featured character in Wash Me Away.

Interviewer: I’m sure a lot of our readers would love to know how a day in the life of Napoleon Blake looks. Are you an early riser?

NB: *laughs. You know what they say, early to bed, early to rise makes people suspicious.

Interviewer: Okay, so not an early bird. How do you like to spend your free time?

NB: Well there’s how I like spending my free time and how I actually do.

Interviewer: Meaning?

NB: Like most red blooded american teenage boys I’d like to spend all my time having sex.

Interviewer: With?

NB: Again, like most, any willing participant would be considered. But of course when I am not thinking about the obvious, I’m out riding my skateboard or hiking. Oh, and then of course movies, I’m always consuming quality films.

Interviewer: Speaking of films, I hear you’re a bit of a movie buff.

NB: Some might say that.

Interviewer: What are some of your favorite films?

NB: I really hate that question. It’s like asking someone which kid is their favorite.

Interviewer: Isn’t that usually what people say about something they’ve created.

NB: Well it remains true for this to. How can you compare the comedic genius of Airplane to the emotional toll of E.T.

Interviewer: Do you only watch older movies?

NB: Of course not, it’s just ... something resonates with me in their scripts. A lot of people think they’re cheesy in the way that everyone works together to reach a common goal or happy ending, I find it admirable and something we should embrace.

Interviewer: Is there one incident that shaped your life?

NB: *swallows hard. My brother’s death. It made me realize what happens to the people who are left behind after you’re gone. I made the decision I would live the truest and fullest life I could.

Interviewer: Is there one person who always makes you smile?

NB: Well I’m a pretty funny looking guy so whenever I look in the mirror, I tend to laugh.

Interviewer: I doubt much of our female audience would agree with that statement.

NB: Seriously though? I surround myself with friends who make me smile. I can always count on Miyagi for a laugh. I never know what will come out of Julia’s mouth. But if there is one person I had to pick that I would drop everything to hang out with, it would have to be Addy. My head is always spinning with thoughts and ideas, but somehow, when I’m with her it brings me a calm.

Interviewer: Thanks for spending a few minutes with us to answer some questions.

NB: Thanks for getting me out of class for it.

Wash Me Away
Blurb:

Addy Buckley is probably one of the only people in the world who is thankful for a tragedy wrecking her world. For her, the boogyman was real, until one day, she was free, or at least that’s what she believed. Monsters have a way of following you.

Now, immersed in a new world with her Aunt and Uncle, at boarding school, Addy begins to learn she’s not the only one with secrets. While trying to navigate the minefield of painful lies that seem to be rattling around in her family’s past, she meets soft on the eyes, and heavy on the heart, Napoleon Blake. Faced with the darkness, Addy must decide to sink or swim.
