~Summary~

The aliens inadvertently turned Earth into hell.

Like the first Europeans to arrive in the New World, the aliens carried viruses, one of which mutates after contact with a terrestrial virus. The resultant plague makes humans into zombies and turns the aliens into the horrifying Xenomortis.

Nineteen-year-old Miles lives with others in relative safety in an isolated Texas town. Beating back the odd zombie attack and avoiding the Xenomortis is the new normal. But now a new threat has arisen, and when it destroys his community, Miles and his group must face the mayhem of the outside world as they battle to save what's left of humanity –– and kill as many zombies as possible while they're at it.

~My Thoughts~

This is one action packed read and the beginning sets the tone perfectly! Miles's life is changing, starting with losing someone he dearly cares about. After that, everything goes down hill for him. New and inexplicable things are showing up all the while a fearful gang is coming into town, stirring things up even more. I truly enjoyed this, I was hooked from the beginning, didn't want to put it down! I needed answers!

Everything happens so quickly, it isn't hard to get lost in the story! Throughout I was sitting on the edge of my seat and the spider ink creatures brought chills to my spine! I truly enjoyed that twist coming into the story more than Miles sure did. There's a couple of twists in here that I didn't see coming so I'm dying to learn more about them! Especially the cliffhanger at the end! Yes, there's a cliffhanger.....Throughout I was wondering when we were going to see any aliens, the ones that came to earth in the first place, and of course it happens right at the end, ugh! Why?!

Overall- if you love action packed, zombie reads then this one is for you! The action is nonstop and I was glued to my iPad because of it. The story was told well, even with some small editing problems, it was great! I'm dying for the sequel!
