Waiting on Wednesday (39)

Welcome to Waiting on Wednesday! Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases we are eagerly anticipating. This week I am anxiously awaiting:

The Mark of Athena (Heroes of Olympus #3) by Rick Riordan
Publication Date: October 2, 2012
Genre: YA Fantasy
Pages: 608

Summary

In The Son of Neptune, Percy, Hazel, and Frank met in Camp Jupiter, the Roman equivalent of Camp Halfblood, and traveled to the land beyond the gods to complete a dangerous quest. The third book in the Heroes of Olympus series will unite them with Jason, Piper, and Leo. But they number only six--who will complete the Prophecy of Seven?
The Greek and Roman demigods will have to cooperate in order to defeat the giants released by the Earth Mother, Gaea. Then they will have to sail together to the ancient land to find the Doors of Death. What exactly are the Doors of Death? Much of the prophesy remains a mystery. . . . With old friends and new friends joining forces, a marvelous ship, fearsome foes, and an exotic setting, The Mark of Athena promises to be another unforgettable adventure by master storyteller Rick Riordan.

I'm a huge fan of the Percy Jackson series. And Rick, himself. I loved the first two (second one little more then the first. Mostly because it had Percy in it.) and I can't wait, and I mean that literally, to get my hands on this one.

Summary

Gabriel Merrick plays with fire. Literally.

Sometimes he can even control it. And sometimes he can’t. Like the fire that killed his parents.

Gabriel has always had his brothers to rely on, especially his twin, Nick. But when an arsonist starts wreaking havoc on their town, all the signs point to Gabriel. Only he’s not doing it.

More than Gabriel’s pride is at stake -- this could cost him his family, maybe his life. And no one seems to hear him. Except a shy sophomore named Layne, a brainiac who dresses in turtlenecks and jeans and keeps him totally off balance. Layne understands family problems, and she understands secrets. She has a few of her own.

Gabriel can’t let her guess about his brothers, about his abilities, about the danger that’s right at his heels. But there are some risks he can’t help taking.

The fuse is lit…

I freakin LOVED the first book, Storm, staring Chris and the prequel, Elemetnal, staring Michael. So you know I'm dying to read this one. And guess what, my boyfriend is so awesome he's going to buy it for me <3, so excited! haha ^_^

With all the action, romance and swoon worthy guys sweeping up the pages, this series is a MUST! And I just can't wait to get inside Gabriel's head, he is the top favorite brother of mine.
