~Summary~
It didn’t take long for the world to die. And it didn’t take long, either, for the dead to rise.
Born on the day everything ended, a world filled with the walking dead is the only one that Aaron knows. Kept in seclusion, his family teaches him the basics. How to read and write. How to survive.
Then Aaron makes a shocking discovery. The undead, who desire nothing but flesh, ignore him. It’s as if he’s invisible to them.
The survivors of the old suburb of Lexington call a high school their home. They live day to day, without any of the luxuries mankind used to enjoy. Samantha is a product of the new world. Alone, cold, looking out only for herself. She and the other residents of Lexington feel their hope dwindling. They need change. They need someone who can face the corpses. They need someone who can live in a city of the dead.
They need Aaron.

~About The Author~
Wow, this turned out better than I thought it would. I'm not
saying this was going to be bad but I didn't know that it was going to start
where it started, it was going to have amazing well rounded characters, and or
a world that was built perfectly for any kind of reader. Seriously it was a
heart pounding, action packed, page turner of a book that I just want to jump
right back into the world Glenn Bullion has created for us.
There's so much that happens in this book yet it all gets
tied up nicely at the end. It's one of those books where it's truly finished at
the end but the storytelling was just so good that you'll be dying for a
sequel, even though you know there really doesn't need to be one haha. That's
how amazing this book is.
In the beginning we get to see how it all goes down and I
wasn't expecting that. For some reason I thought it was going to follow the
same YA formula and it'll all be told by the girl point of view but it was
better than that. We get many points
of views yet it they all move smoothly into the next. I was never lost or
confused between the characters and it was easy to tell them apart in the
beginning to whom I was reading behind the eyes of. I loved it! Seriously
amazing!
Though there were a lot of happy and humorous moments too,
there were a lot of sad ones and they'll hook you in just like the other stuff.
It’s a zombie/end of the world book so you just have to expect some lose within
the characters and each one will pull at your heart strings. No lie, even when
a bunch of kids get turned into zombies after wanting to be hero’s like Aaron.
Even though I never knew the kids it was extremely heartbreaking. This book is
heartbreaking when it wants to be and always at the right moments. Though I am
very happy with the end, even after all the struggle the characters have to go
through to get there.
I love the twist the author has on his main guy Aaron, he's
immune to the virus and the zombies aren't drawn to him. They don't care that
his made of the things they crave and I love this take on the zombie world. I
love how they're maybe more like him too. I also love how Aaron is completely
well rounded. Even in this hell hole his father made sure he grew up right,
made sure he had manners and feelings towards people. His father made sure that
Aaron wouldn't turn into an animal like a lot of people do in this kind of
crisis. I don't think I can gush about him much without giving away too much.
But I can say is that he is truly exactly what the survivors in Lexington and
Sam needs.
Now Sam, a.k.a Samantha, is a strong ass character. I mean
she takes down two guys that try to take advantage of her, when they thought
she was supposedly knocked out. Bitch gots balls and in comes Aaron, who slowly
knocks down the wall she has built up (guys are sneaky that way). Haha those
two interactions are amazing to read and they put a big ass smile on my face.
God, they were so cute together. Love them!
I don't know what to say much without spoiling. Overall this
is a mind blowing read and I would love to read more from this author. There
were so many twist and turns, surprises I really didn't see coming. And then
there were moments when I just knew something horrible was about to happen.
Those moments got me sitting on the edge and had me yelling at the characters
"No, don't do it!" like I do with a lot of horror movies haha. Those
are favorite moments of mine too.
Finally note, yes this can be a bit gritty and uncomfortable
in some scenes but if you're a fan of horror and zombies then this is a must
read! Go check out this awesome author.
~About The Author~
I live in Maryland with my wonderful wife and four cats. I love gaming, computer technology, movies, and of course, reading and writing. I love science fiction and especially horror and the paranormal. Ghosts, vampires, werewolves, zombies, anything supernatural, all beautiful subjects.
I’ve been writing since I was twelve years old. There’s just something about creating a story that I like. I always try come up with something that hasn’t been done, or is unique in some way. It could be someone with demonic powers, or something much more simple, such as a person that zombies ignore. It’s fun to create a character, give him or her a personality and background, and watch them evolve through a story.
I’ve tried other subjects, but always drift back to horror and paranormal. There’s a reason why we keep going back to horror movies and books, why they’ve made fifty Friday the 13th movies. People like to be scared, but more than that, I think paranormal and horror stir the imagination like nothing else. We’re all just a little nervous to open that closet door at midnight, or look under the bed.
