~My Thoughts~
After the cliffhanger of the first one, Mortis, I was so excited to get my hands on Retaliation! I needed answers and we get some, but of course it feels like there might be secrets behind those truths.
Miles is suspicious even though he's in a good place and I don't blame him, he's been living in hell for three years. So while Miles is trying to find his way out of this new community, Daniel is trying to get the Riven's community help with the fight against the Roves to get his home back and to save his "family". But along their way they run into trouble, find that the zombies are up to something and see that the Roves are interested for some reason.
I really enjoyed following multiple point of views. Though at first the transition from first person with Miles then third person with Daniel and Ira (a Rove slave, loved this interesting surprise), took me a little while to get used to. I wished they were all first person but being in third person, it did make it easier to fall into their chapters with it being in third. So I have mix feelings from switching from first to third. But that didn't stop me from devouring this book!
Overall I truly enjoyed this sequel! There's quite a few twists that I didn't see coming so they threw me for a loop but it definitely brought a punch, hooking me! Like, seeing someone that isn't supposed to be around because of what happened in the first one. Oh my gosh, I'm dying to know that persons story! And the twist on what's going on at their home once the Roves took over, creepy! There's a lot of shock factors in here too so be prepared for your jaws to drop! I was seriously sitting on the edge of my seat! I cannot wait for the third one! I need more answers!
If you enjoyed the first one then you'll enjoy this one! If you haven't read the first one, why haven't you? If you love action packed reads, with zombies and aliens then pick this series up!
