~Summary~

Beltane is about to start and as Meg Dunkirk and her coven prepare to celebrate the Sabbat, one of the priestesses turns up missing. Something's wrong and Meg knows it, but no one seems to want to listen to her. So when the girl's body is later discovered, everyone but Meg is surprised. As the murder investigation gets underway, she turns to her solitary practice to track down her friend's killer, but even magic can't prepare her for what she uncovers.

This is the first part in the Something Wicked serial. It isn't a standalone.

~My Thoughts~

Okay first off, just buy the bundle. It's a serial and it's cheaper that way, plus with the cliffhanger at the end you'll probably want to read the next one as soon as possible, so yeah.

The cover and summary pulled me in, then the bundle being on sale- I had to buy it.

What kept me reading was a small interest in who done it, other than that I don't think much would have kept me interested. The writing and Meg being a witch definitely kept me interested too, which is why I gave it three stars instead of two. But I don't know, there was just some things in here that didn't flow well for me. Like the characters, when I first started reading this I thought they were a bunch of teenagers but then we find out the main character is 25- didn't see that coming, they just didn't feel like they were 25. Then I felt throughout she's been a witch her whole life yet she's still just a beginner when it comes to her powers apparently, so something didn't mesh well.

The mystery, well we get more questions than answers of course. But somethings were answered and the most obvious one was like- duh Meg, how did you not see that coming. I knew something was up with her boyfriend from the very beginning.

I don't know, this was just a meh read for me. I'm definitely going to read the next one too see if anything happens cause a little part of me is curious. So hopefully things will pick up and something will make me care for the characters cause right now I kind of don't.

 Sweet Readings Everybody!
