~Summary~
Marcus is a Cupid. Lena is a Reaper. Opposites attract in the exciting new Switched At First Kiss series by the acclaimed author of The Dirt Diary.
When she's dared to kiss the adorkable Marcus Torelli at a party, Lena thinks it's the perfect opportunity to cross First Kiss off her list of "Things to Accomplish Before I Turn Fourteen."
It's only when she gets sent on an assignment the next day that she realizes something went horribly wrong. That ZING she felt wasn't the thrill of her first kiss--she and Marcus have swapped powers! Lena is not your average eighth grader; she's a soul collector with a serious job to do. And Marcus turns out to be a supernatural matchmaker (like Cupid, but without the diaper).
Now logical Lena finds herself with the love touch, and sweet, sentimental Marcus has death at his fingertips. The truth is that Lena should never have taken that dare...because one little kiss has Lena and Marcus in a whole lotta trouble.

~My Thoughts~
Surprisingly this had a lot more depth than I was expecting! I devoured this book, I could not put it down! Though I thought once they switched powers they were going to get in a lot more trouble than they did however the trouble they did get into was enough for the story.
Lena is a reaper and with her scientist of a father, she doesn't believe in love. It's just a bunch of chemicals and nothing more- so you know she was super excited to switch powers with a cupid. Not! And then there's Marcus (loved reading behind his eyes just a bit more than Lena's) who is a "matchmaker" as he likes to correct Lena haha. Not a diaper wearing cupid. He can't handle death, not like Lena. He doesn't like talking about it and when his turtle he had since childhood past away he cried his heart out.
Like I said earlier I loved reading behind Marcus's point of view just a little bit more than Lena's mainly because he's an underdog. He's the black sheep in his family, he's not an athlete like the rest of his family. So it was awesome watching his character grow and become more confident, confident enough to confront his father and I loved it! Lena's character grew too and I'm excited to see how much in the sequel. I'm super excited for the sequel, I need it like now!!
I loved how this accident of switching powers actually helped the characters, especially with Marcus not being able to handle death. At the end of it and when he had to do the one thing he didn't want to do (that was such a heartbreaking scene! The feels people, the feels!), he understood that as a reaper he isn't killing anyone but helping their ready souls have an easier passing.
Overall I absolutely enjoyed this book! I couldn't get enough! I really liked these two characters, opposites really do attract! I loved how they were able to help each other and loved how the characters developed. Again I'm super excited for the sequel! This was such a sweet and cute read, I couldn't help but smile as I read it. Sometimes I couldn't help but laugh out loud while reading it too!
*Was given a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review*
Sweet Readings Everybody!
